Rotary Valves & Diverters

Rotary Valves

Clyde Process provides a complete line of rotary valves suitable for applications ranging from gravity discharge of filters, cyclones and storage devices to precision feeders for dilute phase and continuous dense phase pneumatic conveying systems. Rotary valve performance relates directly to the material being handled and the application. Please contact us for assistance or advice in the selection of your rotary valve.

Rotary Valves

Multi-Duty Rotary Valves are Clyde's most versatile technologies, suitable for many material handling applications. The unique TS4 seal ensures long valve life with minimal maintenance. The valve is designed for operating differential pressures less than 15 PSIG. The unique square inlet flange design allows for direct replacement of many competitive valves by matching flange patterns without exceeding overall height dimensions. The Multi-Duty Rotary Valve can be utilised to convey powder or pellets.

High-Efficiency Airlocks feature an integral doweled inspection panel for access to the interior of the housing and rotor and an angled, cast inlet to reduce shear and distribute wear.

MTA Airlocks are designed for a maximum differential operating pressure of 2 bar. They are available in gray iron, stainless steel and aluminum. The MTA rotary valve is designed to be dimensionally interchangeable from flange to flange with the popular FTA rotary airlock.

SEA Rotary Airlocks have an offset inlet and discharge to reduce product shearing of pelletized and chip materials as they pass through the inlet and discharge rotation. These valves also feature round 150 lb. drilling heavy-duty flanges.

TRA Rotary Airlocks have a tapered rotor design to allow rotor adjustment when wear occurs. The TRA features a body vent on the "up" side of the rotation to vent blow-by air from pressure pneumatic convey systems. These valves also feature round 150 lb. drilling heavy-duty flanges.

CV Rotary Airlocks feature a blow-thru end plate design which allows attachment of the convey line directly to the end plates of the airlock. Convey air flows through the CV valve, blowing material from the rotating pockets directly into the convey line. Style “A” CV valves feature an inlet baffle attachment to vent blow-by air as the empty pocket rotates up to be refilled with product. Style “B” CV valves do not include the inlet baffle arrangement.

RV Rotary Airlocks feature inboard bearings and lip seals. These valves are typically used when handling non-abrasive powders or products that will not damage the seal.

OBRV Rotary Airlocks feature outboard bearings and shaft braided packing seals. They are typically used when handling products that will damage the seals and cause bearing failure if product contact occurs.

Heavy Duty Airlocks are ideally suited for low- and medium- differential pressure systems, gravity or volumetric feeder discharge devices.

WG, FS, and FR Airlocks are fabricated airlocks with flexible, wiper blade rotors, designed to be used for applications handling stringy or fibrous products and products that have a high shear rating. These valves are intended to be used in gravity flow applications limited to a pressure of 20” W.C. and 105° C.

All airlocks feature a variety of rotor configurations and right angle or parallel shaft drive arrangements based on specific application and process needs.

Dump Valves & Terminal Boxes

These form the termination of the pneumatic conveying transfer pipe and secure entry of the material into the chosen reception hopper.

Dump Valves are used where a number of hoppers positioned in series require selective feeding. They have two operating conditions, 'straight through' and 'dump'. In the straight through condition, a self inflating easily replaceable seal closes off the respective hopper inlet, allowing the material to be conveyed 'straight through' to the next available reception point.

Terminal Boxes are used at the end of a series of dump valves or where there is only a single reception point within the pneumatic conveying system.

DV Switch

Dome Valve Switch Valves

The Dome Valve Switch Valve is used to provide material routing, where for example, a system is delivering to more than one reception point.

It allows the flow through its two outlets to be switched on or off independently, and offers the many high performance, long service benefits associated with the Dome Valve.

Tube Valve

Tube Valves are used to divert the material flow from a single source to either of two different destinations. A number of these valves placed in series within the transfer pipe can be used to direct the flow to many different destinations. In all cases, valve operation can be independent or form part of an automated PLC controlled routing system.

These valves are suitable for use with a wide range of free-flowing materials typically found within minerals and other process industries.

Density Stabilisers

Density Stabilisers are located along the conveying route at set intervals to fluidise the conveying material and facilitate the conveying process.
