Clyde kicks off Latin American Rotofeed production

18/03/04

Marking an key milestone in its world-wide development, Clyde Materials Handling has produced its first Rotofeed system in Brazil. Manufactured via Clyde Materials Handling Sistemas do Brasil Ltda. the system has been designed to feed charcoal into an industrial process and has already been delivered to customer Cisam / Praxair.

Justifiably proud of his company's achievement, Daniel Anderson of Clyde Materials Handling Sistemas do Brasil Ltda commented, "To everyone who provided us with the help and support to make this happen...thank you!".

A core Clyde technology, the Rotofeed solves the problem of accurately delivering difficult to handle powders and granular material into a variety of industrial processes. A proprietary technology, Rotofeed is capable of delivery accuracies better than ± 0.5% across feed rates from a few Kg per hour up to 300 tonnes per hour. Already in use in applications such as Blast Furnace Coal Injection, Flash furnaces and Pearce Smith Converters, the Rotofeed can deliver materials against back pressures of 20Barg and above.

These unique characteristics make Rotofeed capable of massively increasing both plant productivity and process consistency. In turn, this delivers enhancements in plant performance and ultimately greater profitability for Clyde's customers.
